§ 19-336. Definitions.

  • As used in this division the following terms have the meanings as indicated below:

    Emergency shall mean a circumstance in which the element of time is involved in treating and transporting a sick, wounded or injured person in order to protect such person's health or life.

    Emergency ambulance shall mean any motor vehicle designed, equipped or used for transporting the injured or sick from an emergency site to a medical facility for treatment.

    Emergency ambulance service shall mean responding to calls for ambulance service to the site of an emergency, the ambulance trip to the place or from the place of an emergency, the transporting of sick and injured from site to a medical facility or the rendering of first aid or medical assistance at an emergency site from an emergency ambulance.

    Emergency run shall mean an ambulance trip to a place where an emergency exists, or from such place to a hospital, or other medical facility for treatment.
