§ 22-13. Aquatics fees.

  • (a)

    The parks and recreation department is hereby authorized to charge the fees set by the following schedule for admission to San Antonio Natatorium.

    (1)

    Persons under the age of eighteen (18) years ..... $2.00

    (2)

    Persons aged eighteen (18) to fifty-nine (59) years ..... 4.00

    (3)

    Persons aged sixty (60) years and over ..... 3.00

    (4)

    Adults (age eighteen (18) to fifty-nine (59) years) may purchase an adult swim pass good for twenty (20) admissions to the San Antonio Natatorium for seventy dollars ($70.00). The adult swim pass must be used within ninety (90) days of issuance and will expire ninety (90) days after the date of issuance regardless of the number of admissions utilized.

    (5)

    Seniors (aged sixty (60) years and over) may purchase a senior swim pass good for twenty (20) admissions to the San Antonio Natatorium for fifty dollars ($50.00). The senior swim pass must be used within ninety (90) days of issuance and will expire ninety (90) days after the date of issuance regardless of the number of admissions utilized.

    Individuals requiring swimming exercises as a part of a health care provider directed therapeutic program may apply for no charge admission to the San Antonio Natatorium. Said application must be accompanied by a written confirmation of the need for therapeutic swimming exercise, and the duration of this need, by the health care provider and be for a specifically named individual. Upon review of said application and documentation, city parks and recreation staff may issue a permit for no charge admission to the San Antonio Natatorium for the duration of the certified need. Admission will be for swim times open to the general public only, and the city shall provide no other services beyond admission to the San Antonio Natatorium.

    (b)

    The parks and recreation department is hereby authorized to charge the following special group rates for use of the San Antonio Natatorium:

    (1)

    Special group rate, nonexclusive, two-hour minimum, per hour ..... $ 20.00

    (2)

    Special group rate, exclusive use, two-hour minimum, per hour ..... 30.00

    (3)

    Special group rate, exclusive use, eight-hour minimum, per day ..... 200.00

    (4)

    A group rate damage/cleanup deposit of five hundred dollars ($500.00) is hereby authorized to be collected at the time reservation for aforesaid facilities is made. Said damage/cleanup deposit is refundable to the user in whole or in part based on the condition rented premises are in after a reserved event. The amount of damage/cleanup deposit refunded to the user shall be determined by the director of parks and recreation or his designee and shall be based on policies established for each facility.

    (c)

    When the San Antonio Natatorium is rented by a group under terms of above established group rates, any admission fees charged by the group must be coordinated with and approved by the director, parks and recreation.

    (d)

    The admission fees established in subsections (a) and (b) pertain to general public admissions. Incidental use of the San Antonio Natatorium by the San Antonio Independent School District shall be pursuant to the agreement between the city and SAISD manifested by Ordinance No. 50030, November 2, 1978, which is adopted by reference as if set forth herein at length.

    (e)

    (1)

    Individuals enrolled in group swim and group water aerobics sessions offered by the city shall pay a fee of thirty dollars ($30.00) per session.

    (2)

    Individuals enrolled in private swim session shall pay a fee of fifty dollars ($50.00) for four (4) 30-minute lessons.

    (3)

    Individuals enrolled in water fitness offered by the city shall pay a fee of forty dollars ($40.00) per month.

    (f)

    Reserved.

    (g)

    There is hereby established a rental fee for the private use of the city's indoor and outdoor swimming pools for private splash parties. Said rentals will only occur before or after normal operating hours when the pools are not open to the public and will be for a two-hour period only. In addition to the rental fee indicated below, persons renting city pools shall be required to pay the city for the cost of providing life guards for the event. The number of lifeguards required for this use will be determined by parks and recreation department staff based on the number of individuals utilizing the facility and the pool being utilized. Rental fees for said use shall be as follows:
