§ 16.2.2.1. Trees

While allowing for reasonable improvement of land within the City and City's ETJ, it is stated public policy of the City to maintain, to the greatest extent possible, existing trees and to add to the tree population to promote a high tree canopy goal. The planting of additional trees and preservation of existing trees in the City and the City's ETJ is intended to accomplish a variety of goals. These goals can be found in Sec. 35-523 of the UDC. Recommended trees can be found in Appendix E "San Antonio Recommended Plant List - All Suited to Xeriscape Planting Methods" found in the current City of San Antonio Unified Development Code.
