§ 19-21. Authority of traffic engineer.

  • In addition to the maintenance of all official traffic controls, devices and regulations which are established pursuant to separate ordinance and this Code, the traffic engineer is hereby authorized:

    (1)

    To determine and establish speed regulations, school zones, regulatory devices, signs, signals and all other traffic control devices as shall be deemed necessary for the public safety and welfare or to regulate, warn or guide traffic for the safe and expeditious flow thereof.

    (2)

    To place and maintain traffic control signs, signals and devices when and as required under the provisions contained in this chapter to make effective the provisions of this chapter.
