The Market Square Commission is established under the authority of Section 49 of the City Charter. The Market Square Commission shall consist of seven (7) members
serving two (2) year overlapping terms and shall be appointed by the city council
from the following categories:

Professional Architect

Tourism Industry

Historic Preservation

Consumer
Except for the Market Square Merchant, none of the other members of the Market Square
Commission shall have a substantial interest in any business entity in Market Square
as that term is defined in Chapter 171 of the Local Government Code, Vernon's Texas
Statutes Annotated.
